Benefit-Cost Analysis of Alternatives – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers must ensure every dollar it invests yields more than one dollar in return.  The Corps makes this determination based on a benefit-cost analysis.  This document highlights the Corps’ benefit-cost analysis of three alternatives for completing the Indianapolis North Flood Damage Reduction Project: (1) the “56th Street Alternative,” (2) the “Westfield Boulevard Alternative,” and (3) the “Rocky Ripple Alternative.”

Final Record of Decision – This document records the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ final decision regarding project alternatives for the Indianapolis North Flood Damage Reduction Project.  The Corps selects the “Westfield Boulevard Alternative” from among two feasible alternatives identified in its Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement —  the “Westfield Boulevard Alternative” and the “Illinois Street Variation”.  The Corps did not select the “Illinois Street Variation” based on opposition from the local project sponsor (the City of Indianapolis).

Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement – This document extensively analyzes the impact and consequences of various alternatives to complete the Indianapolis North Flood Damage Reduction Project.  Based on this analysis, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers identifies two feasible alternatives for completing the project: (1) the “Westfield Boulevard Alternative,” and (2) the “Illinois Street Variation.”  The document includes overall project history, construction detail for various alternatives, and an analysis of impacts to the environment, recreation and cultural resources.
